Wireless communication is established when a transmitter sends a modulated signal at sufficient power over a suitable frequency using an antenna over air/free space such that it is received by the receiver antenna with an acceptable bit error rate. The bit error rate is a metric that determines the quality of the received signal. The acceptable bit error rate depends on the application such as a video application can tolerate a low bit error rate as compared to a purely audio application.
